I was totally blown away by how close my model looks like the girl from Mad Men. I mean really, I felt like I was sent back in time and I kept waiting for Don Draper to walk into the studio with a cigarette in his mouth. She was so humble about her beauty that it really magnified it even more. As she was getting her hair and makeup done, I learned a few things about her, one she enjoys reading and writing so much that she made a career out of it. I thought bringing her into my neighbor Nash Rightmer’s art studio would be a perfect way to begin the shoot. Eclectic antiques fill the nooks and crannies of his studio along with his AMAZING mix media art. He has some pretty interesting items along with a type writer and some books from a time long ago. Of course my model spotted out all the books and noticed one from Ayn Rand a female writer known for her philosophical non-fiction works. I really appreciate how the familiarity of the books made her feel comfortable thus making for some really astonishing images. As always, I tell all my models to bring a piece of wardrobe that is iconic to them. For me its my hats, gotta have em all the time. For her, it was this REAL leather riders jacket. Wouldn’t you know, this gentle soul is fearless and enjoys some bike rides with her hubby. I can only imagine what kind of fearless writings she will be known for on top of her looking like hot spicy celebrities! Lets book a shoot, you and I, click here for the first step!
Little did she know, this blonde bombshell ended up having a blast at her boudoir photo-shoot. Just a few days leading up to her shoot, she almost cancelled, nervous and afraid she could not fathom the idea of being photographed in her undies! She remembered that she was doing this for her husband and found the strength to stick to the plan and get photographed. Inspired by her husbands work, she brought in a few props: work boots, hard hat, and caution tape. He will never look at these mundane items the same ever again! The photos with these props came out super sexy. We softened up the shoot on the bed by simply using a blanket. A little bootie crack is just the right amount of sensual and erotic all at the same time. Super Woman undies, whether or not we know it, all of us women wear these everyday. Luckily for this hot momma, her husband is well aware of her super powers and even has a nickname for it! Show your SUPER SEXYINESS and contact me to set up your incredible boudoir photo-shoot!
I’ve said it once before and I’ll say it again, I wish I had more time on the day of this shoot! We started the shoot with this retro inspired pink dress and thought this back drop was beyond perfect. It reminded me of a set for mid-century tv show like Bewitched but in color instead of black and white. We played around with some standing shots but the sitting down were my faves. Towards the end of the shoot we quickly had our model put on her bright coral like colored nighty and used the neutral back-drop to have her pop from the back-ground. This shoot is so awesome it requires two posts to showcase the best photos. This young mother of two called me up to shoot here in Ventura but then she realized I travel for photo shoots so me my crew drove to her place near San Luis Obispo to do the shoot. She had a great wardrobe selection and if we had two days to shoot then I could have shot all of it! After this shoot, I decided that I LOVE body-suits! She had several she bought from Forever 21 (and I can’t wait to run to the mall to pick some up.) You will be able to see our favorite (bodysuit) pick in Part II so stick around. This momma had a wide selection of wardrobe but not as many accessories to match so I took a peak at her jewelery box in her room and came across a REAL DIAMOND NECKLACE. Ya, that’s right, her man bought this beauty queen a gorgeous diamond necklace and I got to try it on. We were laughing about it because my model said, “I never have an occasion to wear it, so I still haven’t worn it.” I quickly replied and said, “shoot, I’d wear that necklace to the coffee shop!.” Before we left the house I noticed a child size Teddy Bear in the closet. I asked about it and she mentioned her hubby bought it for her to keep her company when he is away for work. I instantly thought to myself, this bear is coming along to the shoot with us. You will see he was the star of our shoot for a few shots and it was SO much fun using him for a prop. These last minute props are sometimes what MAKES THE SHOOT. It was insanely fun working with my team, we had our Bose boom box pumping music in the background the entire time. Just in case you were wondering, the shoot was done at the amazing and historical Santa Margarita Ranch. If you too would like to do a shoot at this location, please contact me and lets chat! Enjoy the photos and be sure to be back for Part II. Here is a link to a wedding I photographed at the same location.
